Milsted Langdon Business Club aims to shine a light on the economy

Slow growth, rising energy prices, a shortage of credit, weak investment, the debt overhang – these are some of the challenges faced by South West businesses in today’s interconnected world.

Chartered accountancy firm Milsted Langdon, which has offices in Taunton, Bristol and Yeovil, is launching a new Business Club to help firms learn from each other and find opportunities for profitable growth. The first Business Club event will take place at Exeter University on Thursday, 22 September, with an invited cross-section of South West firms. Further events are planned in Bristol and Plymouth before the year-end.

Kevin Butler, former Bank of England agent in the South West, is assisting Milsted Langdon in this new initiative which is modelled on the Bank of England’s regional Business Panels.

Milsted Langdon partner Roger Isaacs said: “Our new Business Club aims to shine a light through these uncertain economic times and make sense of the incessant barrage of conflicting news stories. The economic challenges facing firms are unprecedented but there are still good profit opportunities to be found.”

Kevin Butler, who recently joined Milsted Langdon as a consultant, added: “The economic and debt crisis has been a long one and we are certainly not out of the woods yet. However, UK firms are well placed in this competitive world market and we aim to help South West businesses punch above their weight.” Further information on Milsted Langdon is available by visiting www.milsted-langdon.co.uk.
