Sparkling Future for Shop Fittings Manufacturer

A Barnstaple-based manufacturer of shop fittings for a number of leading shop fitters and retailers is looking forward to a bright future under new ownership after a purchase was concluded with the support of South-West accountancy firm Milsted Langdon.

Dymond Engineering was sold by the original owners Colin and Alison Dymond to Mike Garner and Sue Roberts, both of whom had already worked with the company for a couple of years as consultants.

Milsted Langdon provided both advisory and transaction support services, managing the transaction and providing ancillary services such as due diligence, with funding provided by Lloyds TSB.

As the purchasers were very pleased with the service provided by Milsted Langdon, they have now also joined the firm as an ongoing client.

Having completed the takeover, the vendors are now working with the purchasers to ensure a smooth handover of business into the future. The purchasers plan to continue the company’s existing winning formula and, grow the business with the implementation of a successful marketing strategy. The vendors, meanwhile, will reduce their involvement gradually over the next few years.

Dymond Engineering was established in 1981 and has grown to a £1million-plus enterprise employing 15 people. The company designs and manufactures high quality shop fitting and point of sale display equipment, selling throughout The United Kingdom and abroad via shop fitting companies and designers, and also direct to retailers.
