Gala dinner to raise funds for hospice charity
A Black Tie Gala Dinner will take place at Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton next Saturday (19 February) in aid of the charity It’s Childsplay.
The event, organised by Somerset Area Round Table and sponsored by local accountancy firm Milsted Langdon, will feature a five course dinner, Madness tribute band, grand prize draw, spectacular firework display and disco.
It’s Childsplay was set up in 2008 to support and increase public awareness of the great work done by children’s hospices throughout the UK. Over the last three years, the charity has donated over £60,000 to children’s hospices and is perhaps best known for the charity walks and events it organises each summer, ending up in Taunton’s Vivary Park.
Milsted Langdon partner Nigel Fry said: "We are delighted to sponsor the Gala dinner at the Somerset Country Ground and continue our association with It’s Childsplay, which is a really worthwhile local charity doing some incredibly valuable work with children's hospices."
The evening kicks off at 7pm for a 7.30pm start with drinks in The Long Room, the fantastic new facility overlooking the County Ground. The balcony of The Long Room will also provide the ideal vantage point for viewing the firework display later in the evening.
There are a limited number of additional tickets available - to reserve a table of 10, please contact either Geoff Dymond (0774 811 8103) or Richard Goring (07770 996338). Dress code is strictly black tie. Tickets cost £80 per couple.
