Milsted Langdon ‘Santas’ dash to raise money for hospice charity

Accountants from Yeovil-based Milsted Langdon swapped bookkeeping and budgets for bushy white beards and bright red Santa suits to raise valuable funds for a local hospice charity.

The team, made up of Milsted Langdon partners Gary Salter, Nigel Moysey and Stephen Griffiths, and manager Adrian Farrell, donned the familiar festive outfits to take part in the second annual St Margaret’s Hospice Santa Dash on Sunday, 11 December.

The team were among 70 other Father Christmases who took part in the challenge in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice, which is one of Milsted Langdon’s chosen charities.

Participants began the day by parading through Yeovil with collection tins before undertaking the 4km dash through Ninesprings Country Park, with Nigel, Stephen and Adrian all finishing in the first dozen.

Runners crossing the finishing line received an early Christmas present in the form of chocolate lollipops handed out by Milsted Langdon partner Jon Stocker, who was also dressed up as Santa.

Commenting on the day, Gary Salter said: “We were very lucky with the weather – the forecast for the day was dreadful but the rain held off for the duration of the dash.

“St Margaret’s Hospice is one of the firm’s supported charities and we were delighted to be able to take part in an event which was both fun and helped raise much-needed funds for such a worthy cause.

“Our sponsorship money is still coming in, but we anticipate that we will have raised several hundred pounds for the hospice. We would like to thank everyone who supported us.”
