Milsted Langdon win student mentoring award

Chartered accountants Milsted Langon have reason to celebrate after winning a prestigious award for their work as student mentors at the 2011 Somerset Education Business Awards, which celebrate the strong ties that bond business and education in Somerset.

On March 16, Chairman and Founding Partner Jonathan Langdon and Manager Mark Wilson took to the stage at the awards ceremony to receive the Business Award – STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths).

The team at Milsted Langdon were nominated for their involvement in the recently established Career Academy Programme at Richard Huish Sixth Form College in Taunton.

Milsted Langdon were acknowledged for their contribution of time, staff resources and financial support to ensure that Richard Huish students, and students from schools across Somerset, gain current and vocational experience to enhance their academic qualifications. 

Jonathan Langdon said: “We are very honoured to have received the award and for our contribution to be so highly regarded.

“Milsted Langdon’s contribution to the Career Academy Programme was offered with enthusiasm and a genuine interest in supporting the students. We hope that, with our help, their confidence and skills have developed and that we have helped the students get a head start on their career paths."
