Accountant Shows International Tax Expertise

A tax partner at the Yeovil office of Milsted Langdon chartered accountants has passed the first stage of a specialist qualification in overseas tax matters.

Elaine Durrant recently got one step closer to achieving the elite Advanced Diploma in International Taxation – a qualification in international and cross-border taxation – by passing the paper on Principles of International Taxation. It is aimed at senior professionals, and was only taken by 110 other people across the country.

The qualification is intended to provide a global benchmark of quality and an independent means of demonstrating international tax expertise, which is recognised around the world.

Elaine is an experienced tax adviser who began her career worked for international firms of accountants and banks before joining Milsted Langdon as a tax partner in May 2007.  She brings a breadth of expertise on international trade seldom found at independent firms of accountants and which is becoming ever-more relevant to the owner-managed business sector, as more and more family companies are doing business abroad.

She specialises in helping UK firms which are looking to expand overseas, and foreign firms looking to invest in the UK.  Her in-depth knowledge of tax matters in the UK is augmented by specialist advice on the tax regimes in overseas jurisdictions from colleagues within the MGI global accountancy association to which Milsted Langdon belongs.
