Simon hits the airwaves

A partner at Milsted Langdon's Taunton office shared his expertise with the business community during an hour-long show on local radio, analysing the implications of this week's Budget for the South-West economy.

Simon Denton discussed the local and national economic situation, as well as his views on the measures to help businesses introduced in the Budget on 10Radio, a community station covering Wiveliscombe and the surrounding area.

His thoughts were featured in a programme called 'Somerset is Go!', which catalogues how local firms are working to beat the recession.

He said: "I repeated my view that I didn't think the South-West had been hit as hard as some regions, and there are some encouraging signs of recovery, but there are still some concerns.

"Many businesses are struggling for money and a lot are heavily reliant on initiatives such as being allowed to pay their tax in instalments, so there are some difficult times ahead."

This was Simon's first time on the air but he must have proved a hit with the presenters and listeners - he has now been invited to return as a regular contributor to the show.
